I’m a big fan of romance. I think we could all use more love in our lives—more yearning, more tenderness. If that sounds cringe to you, it’s probably because I’m right. Jimmy Whispers gets it. Today we present the premiere of the video for his new single, “Can’t Stop (Thinking About You),” a track that is, as he puts it, “deeply romantic … a love song to its core.” It’s soft and groovy, like a warm breeze, just the kind of song you sway to, holding your partner, looking into their eyes—or that you listen to when you think you might die from pining.

Love is cool; actually, like, maybe the coolest thing of all time, and it really does feel like that when you’re in it. I can’t stop thinking about you. Real. It’s cool, too, when Jimmy Whispers sings about wanting to kiss his girl’s feet, toes included. This is also partially an ode to Chicago, where the song was written—the song features members of Windy City-based bands Whitney, Lala Lala, Finom, and Resavoir. In the video, when Jimmy runs down the stairs at the Western Blue Line station, we see the river, the L, Union Station, Lake Michigan, and even Bucktown Food & Liquor. Chicago is a very romantic city that I think about often, so this makes sense to me.

Anyway. All for love and love for all, especially now that it’s springtime and legs and hearts are out and about. Get yourself someone you can’t stop thinking about.
