portal: "I made this track because my dad used to play 'Where the Streets Have No Name' by U2 on my way to martial arts lessons. I remember that intro just completely warping my brain as a 10 year old, and I didn't realize until later that Brian Eno helped produce it. I wanted to hear what five of the same synth tracks running against each other could sound like - and it felt like this portal opening and closing."
molten: "The chorus felt like molten lava to me - syrupy guitar, intense drums, and loud, stacked vocals. The song goes from pulsing drums, to half time, to double time, back to half time - and then, into this intense outro. It's this elastic, rubber-band effect - and molten felt like the right way to describe it."
