Le Estemporanee is a collection of electronic improvisations recorded on 1980s Type II tapes in the remote countryside of Vallo di Diano throughout 2023 by Mario Savino. Guiding the listener into a profound state of no-mind, Savino investigates the individual’s fragmented perception of reality and enduring identification with life’s illusory values. Freely composed with analogue synthesisers, the album is enriched by frequency-cutting and a pervasive use of delay, creating harmonic distortions that form relentlessly mutating environments. Emerging from an amniotic dimension, the tracks intertwine to unveil a journey of profound existential transformation, reaching the convergence between two opposing universes: a euphoric culmination of the ascent towards enlightenment and the precipice of its inevitable dissolution. Mario Savino (IT) is a multidisciplinary artist whose homespun ambient music arises from a heuristic inquiry into the dialogue between human and natural phenomena. His intricate sonic narratives unfold as textural complexities shaped by prophetic and evolving tonal cycles—infused with metaphysics and sensibility. Working from his converted shed studio in Teggiano—a secluded corner of southern Italy—he crafts musical objects from repurposed materials and contributes to the alt-rock shoegaze collective I Ventured Across The Stream.
