FLOCO makes her debut on LOFS with the project ‘Like the soil’ a tranquil exploration into the feeling of home. Like the soil emerged as an acapella, hallucinating nature whilst walking through an urban landscape. This is echoed in the on location vocal recording, carving out a studio in an under-passage surrounded by the rumble of traffic and birdsong.
FLOCO found a kindred spirit in the otherworldly song of the Northern Lapwing whilst walking in the Yorkshire moors. The swooping radio static calls are sprinkled throughout ‘Lapwing’, an expansive exploration of disassociation and the simultaneous feeling of being both trapped and unbound.
Singer, producer and violinist FLOCO inhabits a world between the old and the new. Weaving remnants of her musical upbringing on English folk music through live electronics and experimental production, FLOCO explores the more abstract lands of Cyberfolk and Dream Pop.
Her live sets combine hardware production with carefully sculpted Ableton processing, effortlessly moving between ambient explorations and heartfelt songwriting. 2024 has seen her perform at Brixton's 'Windmill' supporting Kiran Leonard, Cafe OTO with Martha Skye Murphy, Two Shell's event ShellTek, Leeds Brudenell supporting American folk-pop band '@' and Belgrave supporting shoegaze band Bug Teeth.
Alongside her solo work, she collaborates with artists Stolen Velour and Aria S.L.
