Automatic Candy is an adventurous, experimental, indie band based in New York City. Think American songbook melodies meets Milford Graves or a soundtrack to a David Fincher film. The band picks up where Thom Yorke, Atticus Ross and David Hidalgo leave off.
Their latest single, "Huffy And Puffy", is a psychedelic, dream-sequence-themed room in a 1980s Halloween haunted house. "So much of this song came about by accident," songwriter and drummer Rob Heath explains. "The melody came from a missed note on a keyboard, the drum loop was a drum machine upload glitch, the leaning feel of the bridge; none of it was intentional."
Rob Heath, Kirk Schoenherr and Ari Folman-Cohen are veteran musicians of the New York City Jazz, Indie Rock, World and Experimental music scenes. They each lead multiple projects of their own and have played with a wide array of musical giants including Tegan and Sara, Chet Faker, Spencer Zahn, Elle King, Marcy Playground, Steve Earle, Aaron Lee Tasjan, Jill Sobule, Pangari & The Socialites, Stephane Wrembel, The Harlem Gospel Choir and Jimmy Buffet.
