After five years away, Dean Grenier returns with "Stars Apart," a soaring, uplifting techno opus that maps the territories between connection and distance. A staple in iconic clubs like Berghain, the track's dual nature - euphoric yet tinged with melancholy - unfolds through intricate rhythms and expansive melodies that speak to love's transformative power.
Released in two forms, the original mix pulses with club-ready urgency while its beatless companion strips away the rhythmic framework to reveal the composition's luminous emotional core. Whether experienced on a packed dancefloor or in solitary reflection, "Stars Apart" captures something essential about surrender and human connection.
Across a career marked by restless creativity, Dean Grenier has left an indelible mark on the electronic music landscape. From acclaimed releases on Omnidisc, Turbo, Photek Productions, and Tectonic, to collaborations with Pilo, Chrissy, Archie Pelago & Eprom, his work demonstrates a relentless desire to expand the boundaries of dance music.
Initially rooted in dubstep (as ‘DJG’), Dean’s artistry rapidly evolved to embrace a spectrum of influences - including techno, trance, electro, IDM, broken beat and ambient. This genre-fluid approach allowed him to explore fresh creative directions while maintaining a deep commitment to thoughtful, emotive production. His dedication to experimentation has not only garnered the respect of fans and peers alike but also established him as a forward-thinking force in contemporary electronic music.

Dean Grenier announces “Handworks,” a personal imprint dedicated to exploring musical craft without boundaries. Spiritually connected to the self-released series “Voids” from earlier in his career, “Handworks” serves as a platform for deeply personal music - poetic, abstract, and free from convention.
Launching in 2025, the label will feature a series of singles and EPs, culminating in the full-length album “Special Dedication.” While primarily a home for Dean’s own creations, “Handworks” will also welcome guest artists and collaborators.
The name “Handworks” is inspired by the German word “handwerk,” meaning “craft.” It reflects a commitment to human expression, effort, and authenticity in a time increasingly shaped by alien technologies. The label celebrates music as a handmade art form - a deeply personal expression of humanity, connection, and creative endeavor.
