Wishframe & Severus siew - "Cruel Hiraeth" [IC001]
"Wishframe is a trans conceptual multi-disciplinary artist inhabiting the liminal spaces of power electronics, orchestral angst, sickbient, and ritual industrial. through the marriage of heaven within hell, the non-dualistic process of the kundalini rising, the yin and the yang; [ 陰陽 ] brings forth the chaos of the butterfly effect like the kick of the brightest star in the galaxy. the möbius strip of love, as recurrent, transposes the process of the evolutionary stages through redemption, deliverance, and salvation. to frame wishes as if they were encapsulated as parallel universes; in which each is an echo of a desire come true - and if so - what the recursive repercussions of those affected timelines have been or could have been, to life. this is all through the spitfire of spoken word poetry."
Severus siew :
"The first idea was that I wanted to destroy, to deconstruct the sounds of acoustic instruments. I feel that by changing the primary purpose of an acoustic instrument, you can completely rewrite a story that has already been told through a melody or a song. I wanted to keep warm, the "safe place" that represents the sound of an acoustic instrument, which is easily reliable to your childhood and I tried to give it a new tone which is more representating of what our live has become and how something can be affected by the time and the pain that comes with it.
So, my friend Edleciel and I went to work for a couple of days in a castle in the middle of nowhere and we reworked my compositions by sending them through complex algorithms that he wrote. We had lots of surprises because the renders were totally random but by pushing thousands of parameters to the extreme, we could transcend the nature of these acoustic sounds. Back home, I resampled everything and composed new songs with what we made in the castle.
Then, Essy and I rearranged everything by adding some new tiles she sent to me and we decided to mix these orchestral/algorithmic songs with poetry she wrote."
