The sophomore album from sound artist and activist Zosia Holubowska marks their next evolution as a Wounded Healer. This collaborative album, set for release on 10.10.2024 via White Forest Inc., will be available in both digital and zine formats. To promote the album, Holubowska has developed a multi-sensory live performance in collaboration with Alma Bektas (scenography) and Joanna Zabielska (live visuals).
The “Wounded Healer” concept draws from the Greek myth of Chiron, a wounded yet immortal centaur, symbolizing how personal trauma and pain can be transformed into the wisdom needed to help others. Holubowska, who has long explored healing in both their artistic and activist work, sees the new album as a culmination of this research and commitment. Each track features a collaboration with a femme sound artist whom Holubowska deeply admires, including Aleksandra Słyż, Resina, and Paula Rebellato of RAKTA.
Musically, the album defies genre, weaving together post-folk, drone, left-field electronics, and industrial rhythms. Holubowska’s voice moves between lyrical storytelling and untamed witchcraft, ranging from ghostly lullabies to punk cries. Drawing from their experience as a composer, the music features layered textures and fluctuating rhythms—yet it’s all designed for the dancefloor, for the kind of dance that lets you lose yourself in the pulse and something primal, an indescribable connection as you breathe in sync with a community.
