Over the last five years, Perko—the alias of Scottish-born, Copenhagen-based producer Fergus Jones—has released some of the more captivating and fascinating records in the underground electronic music realm. With his new-ish imprint FELT and with his ear for the progressive sound design that has become his signature, Jones has curated a grip of releases that make it one of the more interesting labels currently operating. The streak continues with the latest release on FELT, which comes courtesy of Carrier, a more recent alias employed by the legendary British techno producer Guy Brewer (Shifted, Commix, Covered in Sand).

Although the modest four songs clock in at around 25 minutes, FATHOM, Carrier’s second release since his breakout tape for Trilogy Tapes, is loaded with enough interesting material, design, and depth to warrant endless number of listens. Employing a minimal sophistication while maintaining a frenetic 160 BPM pace, and sprinkled with cryptic sub bass throughout, listening to FATHOM just once doesn’t tell the entire story. A remarkable release.
