Can you tell us about this track?
“Yatqa” was composed with a Mongolian harp. The song has as its subject the oppositions between the city and nature, the relation with one’s “home” which represents much more than four concrete walls. The six-and-a-half minute piece is divided into several parts like a long journey during which the seasons pass.
The music video serves to show the consequences of climate change on nomadic people who cannot live without their livestock and are often forced to settle in the slums around the capital, one of the most polluted cities in the world.
What’s your process?
I play piano, guitar and Mongolian traditional harp. While practicing my instruments I compose and/or record loops and sing melodies. I write lyrics mostly about what surrounds us, time, space, nature and city, or what’s deep within me.
Can you tell us about your scene?
My scene is the closest to alternative pop.
Who are your biggest influences?
David Byrne, Chet Baker, Barbara, traditional Mongolian music
