Host Family comes from Los Angeles and plays a very contemporary mix of indie pop, noise rock, and shoegaze. Though they have only put out a handful of singles since their 2022 debut, the band’s sound has crawled into hookier territory. “Dromedary” is a continuation of that upward-trending development. It sounds like a college radio hit from the 1990s: drop-tuned, dreamy, and cutting like the white-hot LA sun at high noon.
