Parisian artist Jazz Lambaux understands how to write a song. He also understands how to take that song and muss it up a little bit. Almost twee in its lyrical optimism, the tunefulness of Lambaux’s new single “Yesterday” is counterbalanced by its production, which is full of frazzled synths and IDM-ish stutter edits. The end result reminds me of French electropop legends DAT Politics, a duo who know their way around a toy keyboard, that’s for sure!
