The 10th installment of the Nina Label Mix series comes from an unlikely base for a forward-thinking electronic label: Hanover, Pennsylvania. But Matt Lutz’s label JEROME Worldwide Recordings shows that you don’t need to be in a big city to make an impact in your music scene.
JEROME dates back to 2016 and is now 52 releases deep. The catalog offers a refreshing openness and curiosity to the latest permutations of experimental club music as well as a heaping dose of more functional dance bangers. Lutz told Nina: “We are doing our own thing as a label and we can’t let outside influence or genre impact what we do as a label.”

Where are you based?
I am based in Hanover, PA
Can you describe your label mix?
I tried to throw in some of the current tracks I am using in my radio shows, as well as certain songs I always come back to.
What inspired you to start a label?
Biggest thing with me and starting a label was trying to let some of my friends and peers get their amazing music out into the world. We have been blessed to be able to do that!
Does your label have a sound or a mission?
“They are them, we are us”
A very simple line I heard once from a rapper and I felt like the goal was to follow along that statement, we are doing our own thing as a label and we can't let outside influence or genre impact what we do as a label!
Tell us about your scene(s).
I am not really sure we have a scene haha. If anything we are part of the greater JEROME Multiverse!
What's your A&R process?
When looking for music or ideas, I try to really narrow it down to sound and common things like will I play it on the radio and is it bringing something new and exciting.
What labels do you look up to?
So many labels, just to name a few: Trilogy Tapes, Night Slugs, Fade To Mind, Sex Is Disgusting, Acting Press, Glacial Sound, TT and All Centre, Italian Beach Babes, Hessle Audio, Nervous Horizon, Suplex Cassettes, DFA, Unruly Records, Future Times, World Building, Mood Hut, 3XL, West Mineral LTD, Hiedrah Club de Baile, Never Idle Records, Mammo, surf, Even The Strong, Safe Distro, Audio Bambino and so many more.
