Goddezz is a British sonic and visual platform started in 2020 by portara0000 and Kalli. The label aims to present a variety of high-energy rave styles, all with an eye towards the transcendent. Goddezz wants to, in the words of co-founder portara0000, inject some "optimism and euphoria” into rave music. Their Label Mix for Nina sounds like a CGI-rendered rainbow slicing through the digital sky. So: mission accomplished. We caught up with portara0000; read our interview and listen to the mix below.

Where are you based?
portara0000: London, Lewes, Urth.
Can you describe your label mix?
The mix is a glimpse into our future, with 92.8 percent of the trax being unreleased/forthcoming on Goddezz. It’s a high-tempo and high-nrg transmission that hopefully encapsulates a range of rave emotions that we aim to present on the label ... We have included new droplets from DJ Deep Heat’s luminescent Age Of Aquarius EP which is releasing on Goddezz very soon, as well as forthcoming music from beloved souls Johan Nillson, TOBS, Match Box, Dylan Forbes, Field Motion, LUXE, Wigs and DJ Relax. There is also the first-ever track we released on the label from Goddezz co-creator Kalli, “EARLY HOURS 24/7,” as well as a sprawling progressive house composition from SUMORAI called “Begin,” and our most cherished Angel D’lite track “Cloud 69.”
What inspired you to start a label?
Me (portara0000) and Kalli wanted to carve our own space out of the hardcore continuum and create a world for artists and people that felt disconnected with the homogenous blob of DJ land. A zone that felt detached from everything and was our own but everyone’s at the same time. It ultimately was born out of our long musical friendship and desire for a place where we could do whatever we wanted without our mom’s telling us to do chores.
Does your label have a sound or a mission?
Our mission, delivered to us via airdrop on January 12, 2019, was to fulfill desires for a return to feelings of optimism and euphoria in rave music, to inject mysticism and mythology, to mutate and evolve as the Goddezz instructs us.
Tell us about your scene(s).
Our scene is clear, blue, digital, visceral, highly visual, liquid, punctual, and cryptic. If you wanted to physically feel its presence, Spanners in Loughborough Junction, South London is the best place. ݁+ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
What's your A&R process?
We focus on seeking out artists who have injected unique artifacts or some part of their soul into their music. A quality that makes the tracks eternal. We also look for producers who make music because they have to! When it is their mission and passion. These artists come to us in various ways—through serendipity, through friends, through websites ... We’re very lucky that since we put out our first compilation in 2020 ON+ON+ON, people have been reaching out to us with their tunes and we hope they continue to do so forever.
What labels do you look up to?
WARP records has always been the north star, a label that started within the rave sphere and progressed into a home for all sounds whilst maintaining its core identity. This is definitely the star map we aim to follow, our tastes are not restricted to dance music and as we evolve we want to expand on the flavors we put out into the world whilst remaining true to our roots. YEAR0001 is another label we idolize for the same reasons, they have captured so much purity and we look forward to every release they put out. Some other labels we cherish are co:clear, 3XL, all my thoughts, Wisdom Teeth, Step Ball Chain, Principé, Club Yeke, Suckerpunch, Accidental Meetings, Sorry Records, Ute. Records, Woozy, and BDE Records.
