Luko M made an album about living in New York. His latest, Fourth Hand—available on Nina as a free download—is psychogeographic music. “I wanted to seat the listener on my local subway, the G train, as it hurdles through different neighborhoods, occasionally surfacing above ground to beautiful and jarring views; and eventually, it approaches your home, local stop,” Luko told Nina.

The album’s metaphorical G train makes frequent and always delightful stops with each new song. We get psych rock, electronica, drum and bass, and house, and acoustic ambient on sonic subway ride. The album’s highlights come with its two vocal features. The opener “Yams” is an anthemic and psychedelic cut featuring French artist Musique Chienne singing over woozy guitars. The album’s closer, “Preludes,” sees Violet Beller’s layered into a dreamy and hypnotizing spell. Once you disembark from this album’s subway ride, you’ll know the journey was the reward.
