Though the first instrument you hear on the London-based percussionist Pike’s new double single is a guitar, make no mistake—it’s all about the rhythm, people. Both tracks are defined by a face-scrunching percussive lope. Breakbeat-ish drums and saturnine guitars fuel “Fallen Angel,” while “Concrete Dub” stays true to its name. It’s dubby. There is both space and control here; this is music that will have you walking through a foggy city in your mind, or maybe playing a YouTube walkthrough video of the game MYST at half speed while compulsively vaping. Or you might just nod your head and stare at a wall. I guess what I’m trying to say is that you have options.
