3. Can you tell us about this track?
I was listening to "Gatinha Assanhada," a song from 2011 by the Sertanejo singer Gustavo Lima, when I noticed that they interpolated/sampled the “Stereo Love” song by Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina (it appears in the first 46 seconds of the song). I was in a nostalgic early 2000s vibe at the time and “Stereo Love” and Gustavo Lima's song really were part of my childhood, so I thought to myself, I want to sample “Stereo Love,” too. A couple of days passed and I was playing with some melodies on FL when I came up with the main theme of the song. Then I remembered that I wanted to sample “Stereo Love.” Then I went and downloaded the acapella and it was coincidentally in the same key—I didn't have to change anything. I had then made like half of the song when no less than DJ P7, one of the most influential funk artists of São Paulo, DM'd me asking for a collab. I already ripped off an acapella from one of his songs in that same project, so I thought nothing would be more fair than to send the project for him to finish. And that’s how that track was born.
What's your process?
My process is very laid back—I usually just mess around in FL studio until something I like comes out. It really depends on my mood.
Can you tell us about your scene?
I think of my scene as one of the most influential and important, not only for my country, but worldwide, too. Brazil in general has always been ahead of its time when it comes to music, so the funk scene and its growth is nothing more than the symptoms of our people.
Who are your biggest influences?
My influences are very volatile but one that has always been with me since I started music is Lil Uzi Vert.
Who's your favorite artist on Nina?
