“Life / Sometimes there’s strife / And sometimes you’re psyched / That’s life”
And thus starts “sorry i must sing,” the second song off of Sings, the new release from New York-based artist Shleppy. I must say, the title is apt. On the EP, Shleppy proves the power of the human voice in many forms: processed and raw; fried and angelic; goofy and emo. Paired with kaleidoscopically online-brained production—cracked in a twee kind of way—the vocals tell a story of a life in motion. True progressive pop.
