1. Where are you based?
Watford, England
2. Can you describe your label mix?
It's a mix of unreleased material from label alumni and music from the labels back catalogue. It fluctuates between textural and rhthmic sections which was really fun to mix. It was a great opportunity to dig back into the labels catalogue and rediscover some old favourites.
3. What inspired you to start a label?
I had a group of friends around me on the true periphery of London that were making music that no one was interested in. So I setup the label as a way of giving us all an avenue to get our music heard by as many people as possible. There's no right or wrong reason to start a label but I think that these types of circumstances lead to some of the most interesting labels.
4. Does your label have a sound or a mission?
Platform new artists and give context to music be that URL or IRL
5. Tell us about your scene(s).
I'm mostly involved in two scenes in London that are loosely affiliated to the two labels I run. One gravitates around north and east London and includes artists from the TT roster, the other is in South London and involves artists from another label I run called All Centre.
6. What's your A&R process?
Digging soundxcoud and listening to my friends/friends of friends music. I also have A&Rs (Maya Vika and Madjestic Kasual) that I work with who also send in new music suggestions
7. What labels do you look up to?
Musically I'm really inspired by the obvious ones; XL, Pan, Year 0001, hyperdub etc.
