We Are The Willows is the longstanding project helmed by Twin Cities resident Peter Miller. He has been outputting music under that name since 2007, and IV, the project’s newest release, is a showcase of the kind of musical execution that can only come from years of honing your craft with a trusted group of collaborators. As always, Miller’s silvery countertenor anchors the songs, which exist within a certain kind of rustic art pop idiom, sounding at once like The Dirty Projectors and The Dirty Three. Go climb a tree and give it a listen.
