Can you tell us about this track?
I made this track and the other track on the EP fruit basket in one night. I wanted to work on some instrumental, trancey tracks without vocals again after dropping a lot of vocal songs. I like music like this to have a rough mix which I think we can hear on these tracks LOL, I actually used the plugin Sausage Fattener on the master hahahaha. I think the name suits this track very well and it reminds me of good memories, when I was younger. Having a jailbroken iphone was the shit LOL, you could have all these in-game purchases for free on any games and fully customize your phone! I remember kids at school jailbreaking other kids’ phones for money hahaha.
What's your process?
Ooh tough question! Inspiration usually comes to me on a whim. Sometimes even though I really want to work on music, I cannot make anything that sounds good to me for a while, weeks at a time! And then all of a sudden, I make so much music for a few days. I don't have a general process, though, when it comes to creating. I tend to be all over the place and not have a "distinct sound" on a lot of tracks, which is a thing I’m working on. I think diversity is really fun when it comes to creating but having a general sound and aesthetic is very important, too. I use Ableton Live and mostly Serum, Nexus, and Labs for synths/sounds, and sketchy drumkits from Reddit too, LOL.
Tell us about being a musician in Switzerland.
To be honest, I think it's "alright!” I mostly work with people from all over the world, especially my friends in SpazzTeam and my bro G0r3. I make music with my close friends dirtbound13, virtualion, and reivy too, shoutouts to them. I feel like the local scene here is kinda "dead,” there aren't many shows with underground artists, at least here in Lausanne. It is very difficult finding other artists that have a sound/ideas similar to yours, I feel like. I’m a little shy, though, so it might be that too lol ... I don't know
Who are your favorite Swiss artists?
My friends Dirtbound13, Reivy, Rxdespee, Erdem, Lemancapo (who has an interesting indie game coming out soon, check it out! It’s called Cinnabar nights on steam). I believe Lebanon Hanover are Swiss-British and they are one of my favourite bands! I love HR Giger, too!
