Number 1 Interview Series: DJ RISH and Jetty
1.
Number 1 Interview Series is about Firsts and Debuts and Geneses and Solitude and Premieres. You are reading a work of Oneness. You are reading the Number One (1) interview series in the world ever of all time and absolutely. There is only one One.
Today The Ones are DJ RISH and Jetty. I hereby premiere their collaborative music song 'Blue Crush'.

Lord, grant me the confidence of two insanely swagged out drip-spewing riddim-wrangling whiteboys. I’m talking about Jetty, NYC/Houston’s phonkiest honky. I speak of DJ RISH, London’s soulful-assest boat shoe abuser. I make reference to two lads, bound for life and immortalised beyond it on TT’s already legendary Performance Enhancers compilation (‘curated’ by Madjestic Kasual). These are two certifiable cool guys, allied in song today on ‘Blue Crush’, a compelling entrant to the Song of Summer system-slapper arms race.
No one’s making club music like this. It is sensual and seductive and irresistible to anyone with a nervous system. I write this between gasps and stankfaces as I struggle to exert control over my quivering fingers. There are fluids and I am moaning. I really like it!
We talked about Ones.

You have one day to live, because I'm going to kill you. Your demise is unavoidable and non-negotiable. What do you do with this day?
DJ RISH: Probably go to the countryside with my favourite people, get turnt, cry, listen to music, eat some swag food. Smoke a few darts. Let’s get a karaoke machine too for my big day.
Jetty: Fortnite, Memes, Pirate Studio, and Red Bull <3 (or maybe tornado\storm chasing with mom and dad)
One memory you'll cherish on your deathbed.
DJR: Playing Club All in Shanghai with my homies, December 2019.
J: Can't decide but it seems my most cherished memories occur right after something bad happens, or a very close call - like almost losing my keys in the sand dunes in Colorado but then I found them like half a mile back barely visible sticking out of the sand at dusk ... or the double rainbow at Matagorda after a dreadful storm that subsided right at sunset etc
One product you endorse and consent to being the face, body and voice of.
DJR: HP Sauce.
J: Honey bunches of oats

One experience everyone should have.
DJR: Watching the OC season 1…
J: Finding something beautiful on accident in a remote place 2 hours into the hike alone in the wilderness with a bud light in hand!
Recount a time you made a bad first impression. Did you do damage control? Did you salvage it or did you swallow the L? Have you modified your behaviour?
DJR: I was asked to perform a rap at my cousin’s post-wedding dinner in China. After much convincing I caved. It was embarrassing and some people definitely thought I was lame as fuck after that.
J: Bad first impression? never heard of it
First music concert type show you experienced.
DJR: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Oslo, Norway, 2003. By the Way tour. Went with my dad. Hugely formative experience and I still rock heavy with the By the Way and Californication albums.
J: probably... rapper named “Agape” at Fox Valley Church in North Chicago suburbs

One love, y’all! Do you chief ganja? What is your relationship to the sacred herb (cannabis)?
DJR: Miss me with that, bud. I had a brownie in 2011 and when it kicked in my left arm went numb and I thought I was having a heart attack. I called my mum and my girl in a frenzied panic thinking I was about to die. After the panic attack it was pretty nice.
J: Most (all) of my fondest suburbia memories involve copious amounts of marijuana consumption while listening to land of snakes by J cole in my parents' jetta in the Whataburger drive thru or roasting blunts in the university of houston showers with the towel under the door with K swan, Carlos and Suave but now I think weed is the worst drug of all time
All the single ladies to the dancefloor, y’all! What’s your current go-to peak time floor-filler?
DJR: For a while there it was Closer – Ne-Yo. But then I saw a video of Evian Christ playing it or an edit of it and then I was like ah nah, ima have to stop doing that now. An all-time classic for me is probably the Slugabed edit of Roger Sanchez’ Another Chance called Another Chance 2k14. Too fire and I’ve played it out countless times.

You're making your debut appearance for the sports team of your choosing. What team and what's your walkout song?
DJR: My Way – Limp Bizkit for the Phillies.
J: Chattanooga Lookouts (When I lived in TN, this was the closest thing to a proper sports team), Family Business Kanye (best song of all time, I hit home run every time)
I have here a medal on which the Number 1 is engraved. You can give it to one person who deserves it. They will wear it with pride, probably forever. Who do you give it to?
DJR: Dave Grohl or Keanu Reeves for being the most EPIC HUMANS on earth! Lol, kidding. Let’s go with Jermain Defoe, my childhood hero.
J: Doug Kennard (dad), king of consistency or Wizkid
First time a piece of art, media or cultural output moved you to tears.
DJR: I remember crying when I saw Big Daddy and the kid (Cole Sprouse) gets taken away from Adam Sandler.
J: Something Jesus related - likely at Timber-Lee Summer Camp in Wisconsin. First movie I remember crying to, as like, not a baby was Click.
