Nicholas Krgovich is a singer and multi-instrumentalist from Vancouver. Joseph Shabason is a multi-instrumentalist from Toronto who is perhaps best known for his work on the saxophone. Matthew Sage is a musician, artist, and producer from somewhere in Colorado. Together, the three holed up in Shabason’s barn and made a relaxed record that captures the slippery textures of everyday life. Not unlike the work of Bill Callahan, Krgovich’s lyrics lean toward the quotidian, and all three musicians’ contributions are restrained, pointing towards the histories of ambient, ECM-style jazz, and post-rock. It’s a record written about the day-to-day, and it might just fit into your day-to-day, too.
