Fast Fists Fest is the tongue-twisting new compilation from the Italian electronic label Ansia. The label was founded by the oh-so-slippery DJ Piezo, whose own music flits between the warp-speed worlds of leftfield techno and footwork; here, he’s compiled five tracks from similarly minded beatmakers across the globe, from Egypt (Hassan Abou Alam) to Austria (Toupaz) to Japan (Oyubi, Y.a.M.A). The final track—the delightfully titled “Juke Lil Ma”—is a footwork gem from two of the genre’s hometown heroes, EQ Why and Traxman. It’s a good way to cap off a project that sounds like what it advertises: a high-octane celebration.
