Can you tell us a bit about this track?

Fosil: The piece I've created is related to an aspect of life that keeps us waiting at every turn.

How does the scene affect your process?

Istanbul is a city rich in music, culture, and art scenes, but creating new spaces in the field of independent and alternative electronic music can be quite challenging. Speaking for myself, with my team and other artist friends, we have endeavored to offer a different perspective to this city, introducing new listenable music styles and danceable sounds that we believe in. And we continue to do so. Throughout my music career, I have participated in many events, and I didn't appreciate the focus some venues put on making profits through artists. Therefore, I have always strived to work with budgets and an understanding that prioritizes the protection of artists. However, during these efforts, some places closed down, and some venues did not accept our style. In the past year, we have tried to contribute to this scene by bringing in some foreign DJs and producers at our own expense. With Badmash Collective, which I founded five years ago, we have organized over 100 events and collaborated with more than 50 artists. I must say, on behalf of myself and my fellow artists, that I am genuinely happy and proud that we were able to sow the seeds of a small yet powerful community. As challenges increase and responsibilities grow, we become even more attached to this music. Even if all venues were to close, the scene would still be here, and we are the ones who make it happen. As people who love to make noise, we are not going anywhere; we will continue to make sound.
